Private Officer Captures Orange Orb In Video Above Kansas City Skies 8/7/14 (Latest MUFON Reports of 9/18)

The officer writes a compelling report -- but -- usually I just dismiss `Orange Fireballs' as Chineese Lanterns..... take a look and see for yourself.

Kansas City Summer 2014 Fireball In Sky

I was on duty as a private officer working the night shift in midtown Kansas City, MO. I was in my Crown Vic. It was just before Midnight. An orange light got my attention out of my left peripheral vision. I looked to my left which would be due south of my position. I was surprised to see an orange fireball the size of an aspirin at arms length. It was moving at the speed and altitude of a satellite descending to the southwest. I grabbed my camcorder and began filming. It looked like a campfire in the sky. It was obviously flaming but leaving no trail or debris. My camcorder began going in and out of focus. I began to lose sight of the fireball as it went behind telephone polls and buildings. I got out of the Crown Vic to attempt another shoot, but it was no good. It was gone. The whole thing happened in probably just under two minutes. Initially, when the fireball was due left of me at approximately 9 o'clock (i.e. 45 degrees), I was struggling to remove my camcorder from my backpack and the zipper got caught in the threading. By the time I got it out the fireball had traversed considerably further to the southwest. In the short time that I filmed it, as the camcorder came in and out of focus, I managed to obtain two distinct focal points. When I got off work, I transferred the film to DVD. I was able to zoom (i.e. magnify) the images to the 4th power. What I was hoping to see is what I refer to as a "Light Signature." A pronouncement indicative of an energy source. I was not let down. What is evident in all of the images, both focused and unfocused, is something white-hot at the center of what appears to be a flaming ball of orange plasma. It is evident that the orange plasma is secondary to the white-hot intensity of what lies at the heart, or the center of the anomaly. Ever-so-often the object or objects at the center, because in many cases I was able to count as many as four would suddenly emit a searingly white-hot burst of light that would flood the whole chamber of the surrounding plasma, and immediately return to an orange fireball with a white-hot center. At this point I am just filled with amazement. No answers. Sounds did not sync up with video for some reason, so we opted to mute the video.

Long Description of Sighting Report

Sunday September 14, 2014, over the noon hour at 12:29 pm I saw a new craft in the skies... I had been looking into the same area where I saw a light the previous Friday evening. I noticed what I thought was a momentary bright flash in the sky. Because of this I took my camera and telephoto out to see if I could view anything of the sort through the lens... even momentarily. I didn't see anything for the first few minutes. Then after putting down the camera, and just scanning with my eyes, I noticed what at first seemed to be a white bird in the distance. I decided to take some photos so over the next 43 seconds I took five shots. The white object did not behave like a bird, but then also seemed odd for an airplane. Then I started to blow up the images..... it was definitely not either one. I have cropped and edited them for better detail. The first image seemed to have been the most out of range and therefore out of focus... but as it got further away, the detail gets better. The last photo is the clearest. The first photo was taken at 315°, and the final photo a 337°. They were at approximately 15 degrees from the horizon. The direction of travel seems be ESE or about 116° from the undeveloped land in the western areas of Blue Springs Lake toward the area of the marina, or beyond. Analysis of the size of the first and final image shows that it grew in size nearly doubling (1.8 times). The clarity improved as the images were taken and the final one at 337 ° is the clearest and larger. This leads to the conclusion that the image first observed was further away, and the final photo closer. The focus on the camera was not changed. During the 43 seconds, approximately .63 miles distance was covered. The rate of travel seemed to be constant, and calculates to be 53 mph, much too slow for aircraft. Altitude in photo 1 was about 1400 ft, and the final photo was about 1,050 ft. descending. The second photo shows an interesting item: there appears to have been a dark triangular craft that appeared crossing the path of the white object. It must have been traveling at a high rate of speed since the previous photo, and the third photo which were approximately 5 seconds earlier and later do not show evidence of the triangular craft.

Long Description of Sighting Report

I have been checking the skies in the wee hours because I had noticed triangular weird aircraft on a friday am about 4 months ago around 3:30am I saw unusual craft on two fridays going northward and apparently flying very low. Train passes about same time so unknown if sound was made. Took 3 photographs which show weird craft and there are strange lines throughout the pics showing heiroglyph like patterns. The weather seemed to change in about a minute from clear to overcast. Funny but I don't specifically remember taking the photo or seeing this. The photos weren't noticed until a few weeks later, they were found on my camera's built in memory, So this was a time I remember thinking I missed it because of no memory stick. I was fumbling with camera trying to get a shot and couldn't see in the display what I ended up with on photos. I lost sight probably because I ran inside to grab other camera That's about all I remember. I wonder what these heiroglyph patterns are I haven't seen digital camera malfunctions to do such thing. This was taken on a sony dsc-wx50 at 7x zoom with iso at 1600. The details should be on photograph properties. Thanks!

Person Captures UFO Photo In UFO Hotspot Lees Summit

As folks who follow the UFO reporting via MUFON know - Lees Summit, outside of Kansas City, has been a UFO hotspot for at least 3 years. Indeed, I've blogged about interviewing the local Airport Manager - Oct. 2011 even about the strangeness of reports in the area. (For More Coverage About The 2011 Lees Summit UFO flap see bottom of page.)

Today's report isn't quite as strange as some of those but strange enough to the experiencer - as shown in the report and picture below:

Sunday night August 31, 2014, I was watching television in our great room and out of the big windows that open to woods behind our house, I saw a light so unusual that I jumped out of my chair to look at it. I realized that I had seen it about two nights earlier just very briefly as it passed by… but at the time gave it no thought other than it was characteristically unusual but did not stop. That time I jumped up too, it was so odd. 
The spherical light appeared at 8:15 pm by clearing the trees. In fact, I could see that something was preparing to emerge, it was so bright. 
The nature of the light that was so unusual is not only its brilliance, but that it appeared to be constructed of many hundreds of “rays” that were a bit wider at the origin of the sphere, but which became pointed at the outside of its halo. I have seen many different lights, spotlights, strobes, brilliant incandescent, fluorescent, etc… but never anything of this nature. Nothing like this has ever been part of any type of aircraft that I am aware of either. 
The light hovered for about 2 minutes and was constantly lit. It came from precisely 240 degrees, or NNW, and just floated and was probably 1-2 miles away...although it was hard to be precise. The angle was 15 degrees from the horizon. Almost anywhere between us and 2 miles distant would place if over the undeveloped western shore of Blue Springs Lake.

It was a bright light unlike anything I have ever seen, but then moved away to our left in the general direction that would lead to Lakeland Lake, and out of sight. When it turned westerly, what may have been behind it appeared as a red second light almost as large as the first. It may also have morphed into to… can’t say for sure. The front one very bright yellowish white, the second was red. The lights stayed on, but did seem to pulse. 
I have attached one of the photos I took. Unfortunately the camera in my phone could not capture the detail of the “rays” I mentioned.

The bottom line is that the witness saw an Orb event that became a multiple Orb event. The `distance' probably is what kept the motif at that level.

2014 Missouri UFO Update

Hello Missourians   - today I update with highlights of the 47 UFO reports that occurred in Missiouri just since April 30th, 2014. As you know in the state UFO series - I try to focus on the reports with pictures and videos submitted - but, in this overview will bring you MUFON reports that also do not have `proof' but offer something of UFOlogy value IMO. (Some submitted reports since April are about long ago previous experiences too.)

I will attempt to bring some flow to all of the below - thanks for being a reader and make sure to check out some other State UFO Blogs (in the sidebar) - and thanks for having a mind still into exploring and not just accepting.

2014 Missouri UFO Update

Robertsville, 10:15PM - June 2nd, 2014 - MUFON UFO Report

I was sitting on deck facing south, I looked up & all the sudden it was there. It was so bright & no sound. I thought it was odd because helicopters fly over all the time. This was a little higher than treetop level over the lake here. I took a lot of pics & the actual size & brightness didn't show up which we thought was really weird. It didn't move fast at all. We went to outside of garage to watch it head off to the east & at that time a plane was in the far distance. Someone else reported this on telegraph rd.in the pics has more of boomerang shape.

That 10:45 Telegraph Rd Report

Traveling south on Telegraph road @ 1045pm june 2nd. Notice object slow in the sky just off to the west. Oval with 8 strobe lights forming the outline. Pulled off the road and observed the object hovering from less than 500 feet and it was silent. After about 1 minute the oject started north right over telegragh road with an altitude of around 500 feet. Followd in mt car but object increased speed and lost sight at 255 and Telegragh road.

It's of strong interest that the picture submitter was surprised at the outcome being less or not similar to what was being witnessed - something said time and time again about UFO reports. It's of interest of course of the collaborating report and the apparent morphing shape of the orb.

Stunning Report Of Two Separate Witnesses - Each With Pictures - Of Low Level Bright STRANGE Moving Objects - Bayless Rd Area, Saint Louis 9:02 PM

There are two eye witness reports from facebook friends who live in the same area as me. Both were near the same area at the same time and got separate photos. One was driving down Weber Rd. toward Bayless and took this photo at around 9:02PM on 06/14/2014. The other was driving on Highway 55 at Bayless and said, " Driving on 55 by bayless! Huge cluster of them and one disappeared all the sudden then they all took off super fast! I was freaking out! Everyone on the highway slammed on there brakes and was staring at them!!!!!". I have always wanted to see a sighting and now it happens in my area, so I had to post the pics and story.

Other Old Time Missiouri UFO Experiences

(Again, from the MUFON reports of just the last 60 days)

From 1969 And Clearly A Strange Tale,.... with hints of men in black

As related to ASD by phone today: I was working the night shift in the printer shop at Lake City Army Ammunition Plant in August of 1969. I started work at 12:00 AM and it was very hot, about 110 degrees so we had the fans on. There were seven of us working in this building, which is the second building after the guard shack on the east side of the property. At 3:00 AM all of the electricity at the plant went out so we could not work. The seven of us went outside to sit on the dock and that is when we noticed a strange chrome colored sphere hovering over a building that was four buildings from our position. This object was shining very bright and it was about the width of a small plane. It hovered over that building for a while, then very slowly and silently moved across the road to another building. There is one long main road going through the plant property and this thing moved back and forth, going over each building. There were no emissions and no effects other than the electricity going out. Shortly after we noticed this object we saw a jeep with MP's speeding down the road, then two more jeeps with MP's. They were all driving around like crazy. This went on for two hours, until at approximately 5:00 AM the object suddenly shot up into the air at about a 30 degree angle and into space at an alarming speed - it was literally out of sight in a half a second! Then all of the power came back on. I did not see any other people come out of the buildings, but the docks are in the back so we wouldn't have seen them. The first thing I thought of was "They're back" because I saw a similar object, only disk shaped when I was eight years old while playing with my sister one day. It was also a very shiny chrome color and there was no sound. Everyone thought we were crazy so I never talked about it again. Now there was a guy with us that night at Lake City who mentioned that he saw a round chrome sphere over the dairy farm he was working at a few years prior (1965 or so),and this was off of 7 Highway in Blue Springs not far from Lake City. He was our cameraman at Lake City and was age 60 or so at the time and I believed him. The next day when I arrived at work two men came in that we had never seen before. One was wearing a black suit and the other was wearing a dark grey suit. They had no insignia, and showed no I.D.'s to us, and did not tell us who they were. Only one man spoke, and he said "Remember you all have signed a Security Clearance and you did not see anything last night." He was very firm about it. We did not say anything. Then they left. While at work that night the seven of us talked about what we saw and we were all in agreement about the description, however, I did not tell anyone about this event until now. I saw the show about Missouri on the Hangar 1 show and thought I'd call this in to report it. I am 68 years old now and don't think they'll do anything if I talk about what I saw.

High Ridge UFO Pictures From 7-4-12 Light Up Latest MUFON Reports of 1/25/14

Hello Missouri - welcome to a 'state UFO' blog that will feature the first person anomalous reports from your state that have either photos or video of the incident/phenomena. This blog starts off with a near WOW photo set of who knows what that happened to a couple nearly a year and a half ago. While it would be easy to dismiss this experience as some sort of firework - and indeed many of the so-called UFOs submitted on July 4th in any given year are nothing more than Fireworks that many are not aware of. Indeed, it is even Chinese... as the Chinese have a saying... old wives tale... call it what you will.... that Fireworks BECKON the anomalous literally into existence.

....The " flare" zigzaged coming from the NE direction. Went west, then straight to us, hovered over our treeline & creek approx. 100 ft up & 20ft away(see photo) It hovered for 2-3secs then zipped off in a blink of an eye towards the east over the huge powerlines behind us. There were fireworks going off all around it but it appeared brighter & more solid. It was a deep orange and vibrated like a trembling hand. 
Since then I've captured strange light anomalies in our rm. & have had strange dreams....
